Cramp often strikes at night, giving painful contractions of the muscles in the calves and feet. The best remedy is to massage the affected leg or foot, then walk around once the pain has eased, to improve your circulation. Cramp can caused by calcium deficiency. During the third trimester your need for magnesium may increase by up to fifty percent. Therefore, if cramps are becoming a problem, check your magnesium intake. Remember that you need at least 600mg of magnesium each day. It is difficult mineral to digest and is often lacking in our food supply. You might also need some extra calcium. If you are taking 600mg of magnesium and 1200mg of calcium daily and you still get cramps, you may not be digesting the minerals well. Take one tablet of Calc Phos and one tablet of Mag phos four times a day. Cramps may suggest that all your minerals are low, so see your health practitioner. Regular gentle exercise and massage can also help prevent cramps. Related links: 10 Pregnancy Sign: Read Early Signs and Symptoms of Pregnancy, .....
